After a day since former presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda launched “Piso for Leni Robredo” to help the vice president on her legal fees, one of the organizers told Pinoy Observer that the project is deem to fail.
“The result is not satisfying. Our target was to collect at least 350,000 in the first 12 hours, but we received only 36,000. I think there are too many people that are not yet informed”, one of the organizers in Quezon City Jeannette Uy said.
The project was created by Lacierda to help fund lawyers of Leni Robredo, especially chief legal counsel Atty. Romulo Macalintal. Macalintal is tasked to answer Senator Bongbong Marcos’ election protest.
Uy said there are more than 300 volunteers who continuously post the “Piso para kay Leni Robredo” on social media, but their effort is still not enough.
On the other hand, supporters of Sen. Marcos reacted saying there are not many people who will support Robredo.
“If they solicit from Vote Counting Machines (VCM), I’m sure they will get good result. Facebook user Ali Aguirre commented on one of “Piso for Robredo” posts./Emma Castro/
