The Bureau of Immigration officials have confirmed that retired police officer, SPO3 Arthur Lascañas, together with his family has reportedly arrived in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday, April 2, at 3PM local time. Lascañas previously stated that he wanted to leave the Philippines and forget everything.
The former police officer made several headlines when he was first mentioned by self-confessed hitman, Edgar Matobato last December 2016, where he testified before the Senate inquiry.
Later this February, Lascañas changed his tone and accused President Rodrigo Duterte of operating the alleged Davao Death Squad.
Lascañas family however believed that the police officer had no choice, and suffers pressures from Duterte critics, especially Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
According to his close family member, Lascañas had long been wanted to migrate to Canada and already has visa months before he retired.
With the unavailability of Lascañas to witness, Sen. Trillanes’ dream to indict Duterte will be thrown out of the window according to close Duterte allies.
Lascañas is one of the most important people Trillanes was relying.
Lascañas ans his family is expected to fly to Canada on Wednesday, April 6, to join with his two sons who both acquired Canadian citizenship more than five years ago. /Santi Valverde/Disclaimer: Contributed articles does not reflect the view of Okd2.com.
