The Bangko Central ng Pilipinas (BSP) said it will reprint and recirculate a limited number of ten peso bill starting January 2017 to commemorate several things.
BSP said it will print only 300 thousand pieces and will be issued only to banks and BSP-accredited money changers. Individual persons who wish to acquire could also get the bill (with limited 10 pieces per person) at the BSP office.
Atty. Tobias Salamanca of BSP said the new bill in limited copies will bear the faces of former president Ferdinand Marcos, and former Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.
The inclusion of the two former government servants was voted by the 12-member BSP board of directors according to Salamanca, and was approved by the president, Rodrigo Duterte last August.
