Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) leaders Gloria Beltran and Michael Arellano are asking the organizers from Liberal Party to give the group the money which the party promised earlier.
Beltran said the government of former President Benigno Aquino III should be the one to blame for the current misunderstanding between KADAMAY members and the National Housing Authority (NHA).
According to Beltran, a number of politicians who are under the Liberal Party, together with other militant groups (BAYAN, Karapatan, and Gabriela), convinced Kadamay members to go to Pandi housing and occupy the vacant houses. Beltran said several trucks were provided by the said politicians to the KADAMAY members, including a promised P10,000 for each family.
Only P5,000 pesos were given to each family according to Arellano.
The KADAMAY leaders believe that the rest of the money were already given to other militant groups who are already out of reach.
Both leaders aired their complaints after the NHA forces KADAMAY members to vacate the house that the group members illegally occupied.
Beltran said they do not know what to do after his group left by the organizers. Both leaders also urge the Liberal Party to fulfill their promise and release the money so they can look for other alternative shelter. /Tobby Buendia/
