It looks like the Philippines really picked the wrong person to represent the country in Miss Earth.
Last couple of weeks, Miss Earth Philippines Imelda Schweighart caught the ire of Netizens after the controversial candidate compared President Duterte to Hitler during a conversation with Miss Earth Austria. The video went viral and most Filipinos criticized Schweighart’s reckless behavior.
Although 2016 is considered a year of Filipina beauty pageant winners, Schweighart is not among them. It loos like the half German is does not really deserve to represent the country after she was not included in the final 16.
More controversy revealed when another video of Schweighart bashing Miss Earth winner went viral online.
This is the million-dollar question which reigning Miss Philippines Earth 2016 Imelda Schweighart need to answer after she was caught on video telling her supporters that everything about winning candidate Katherine Espin of Ecuador — from her nose to her chin to her private parts — were allegedly “fake.”
The video was posted Sunday by the YouTube channel ChikAmazing Official and immediately drew strong reactions from netizens who were disgusted with Schweighart’s attitude, reports say.
As such, several social media users expressed the same sentiments to include pageant blogger and Miss Universe Philippines 1985 Joyce Ann Burton who was extremely outraged over Schweighart’s remarks and promptly posted an apology to Miss Ecuador on her own Facebook page.
“I’m so sorry for the bad behavior of our representative. I just saw the video where she was mocking you. I was so embarrassed. Filipina beauty queens are NOT like that. Even our more out-spoken queens are never that bastos. I am so appalled that I hope your pageant organization investigates the matter. And I hope that in spite of her inhospitable drama you would still feel welcome here. Much love to you and congratulations for your win!!!,” Burton posted.
The controversial video was uploaded the day after Schweighart took to Facebook after her early elimination and posted videos of herself wearing the gold gown later worn by Espin en route to her coronation.
As claimed by Schweighart, the gown had been made for her by designer Leo Almodal.
On her Facebook page, Schweighart posted a photo of herself beside her brother clad in the same gold gown when she publicly bashed the newly crowned Miss Earth 2016.
In addition, she posted her position on her advocacy to push for the banning of Genetically Modified Organism which was the reason why she joined Miss Earth 2016 with a message that hinted she may be leaving the country soon.
She wrote: “Lastly.. Before people realize things again when its all too late and gone. Thank you for everything Philippines. Wishing you all the best of luck in the hands of our leaders.”
