Following the plan of Young Fil-Am Filmmakers Association of America (YFFAA), to make pro-Duterte film, the President’s critics are quick to respond vowing to block any pro-Duterte materials from public showing.
Fil-Am businesswoman and a known critic of Duterte, millionaire Loida Nicholas-Lewis allegedly ordered her group to do prior action to block the proposed pro-Duterte film from showing in US theaters.
Lewis was suspected of plotting against Duterte in the past several months, but denied the claim after news broke out.
Local critics also lambasted the plan to release the pro-Duterte film.
The Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) announced it will discourage American Catholics from viewing the film.
Although the film is still in planning stage and the content is not yet revealed, it is already attracting criticisms, especially from rights groups who condemn Duterte’s war on drugs.
Despite of the news, YFFAA urge Duterte critics to be fair in exercising freedom of expression. /Camelia Montes/
