DSWD Wants to Probe Nun who Uses Children on Protest Against Marcos Burial

The photo of a Catholic nun with young students holding anti-Marcos signs on Friday went viral and has caught the attention of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The disturbing photo which went viral during the hastily burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos draws flak on Social Media, especially from a known Duterte supporter, Atty. Bruce Rivera.
Atty. Rivera expressed how disturbing it is to see innocent kids being used and engaging in such activity.

“I will always believe in God because I was raised Catholic. But this picture is disturbing to me as a Catholic who was made to believe that forgiveness and compassion are God’s teaching.” Rivera said.

“Ito ba ang gawain ng disente, sister? Kasi kung disente ito, baka ibang diyos ang nagturo nito at hindi ang mahabaging Diyos na kilala ka,”, Rivera added.

On Saturday, DSWD legal counsel Atty. Francisco Cunanan said they are seeking help of NBI and Cyber Crime Watch to locate the school where the photos were taken. The school based on photos was believed to be St. Benilde.

“Whether it’s pro or anti-Marcos, innocent children should not be used in propaganda like this. This is a clear violation of children’s rights”, Cunanan said.

Cunanan added that the School administrators could be held responsible for violating the children’s rights./Joan Tamayo/facebook-share
