Earlier on February, several reports had surfaced that Disneyland confirmed millions of dollars in investments to build Disneyland Philippines, but the plan – for some reason were cancelled. A reliable source said the giant entertainment and amusement company backed off because it had not enough trust in the Aquino administration.
A senior finance consultant in Disney Tokyo said the company is now looking to continue its plan for the Philippine site.
The consultant who refused to identify by his name because he is not authorized to reveal the plan, said, that vice president for global public policy, Jim Flippatos, is pursuing the company’s plan for the Philippines as the trust rating of the new Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte continue to soar.
The source said that his Filipino counterpart who is tasked to look for ideal site is now concentrating only in four provinces outside Metro manila. The source further added that the company is looking for at least 80 hectares somewhere in Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, and Batangas along super highways.
It was also revealed that the company is sending 6 delegates before the yearend to asses and conduct feasibility study in recommended areas. /Ricky Verbo/
