Detained Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is the latest high profile person allegedly involved in a multi-million car rental scam.

On Friday, arrested alleged mastermind Annabelle Santoyo of Imus City, Cavite, told Santa Rosa Police that the car rental modus operation started two years ago in Bacoor.

Santoyo, a former employee of Revilla revealed that the detained Senator is among  the number of high-profile people who master planned  the “business” together with three police colonels, and a Cavite Mayor.

The Santa Rosa City police are still verifying the information provided by Santoyo before asking the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation in Revilla’s regards.

The Calamba City police detained more than 300 high-end vehicles since the news erupted last month.

Police estimated that more than 600 vehicles were involved in car rental scam, with around 18 million pesos scammed from the people who rented the cars.

Santoyo said she will only name the three police officers if she granted protection as the three are still on active duty in CALABARZON. /Sandra Agoncillo/
