A short commotion outside the Lung Center of the Philippines ensued this morning, September 9, when two security guards posted at the main entrance of the hospital blocked four members of militant group Bayan Muna, including its leader Teodoro Casiño.
The reason was not clear, but according to bystanders, the two security guards on duty blocked the men after they identified Mr. Casiño.
Administration supervisor Teofila Silvestre said the guards told her that they did not allow the men because they have no right to enter the building built by Marcos.
“Since there is no injury, and the men left quietly, our guards were sent back to their posts to continue their work”, Silvestre said.
One of the security guards Romulo Valiente said he is tired of hearing the rants of this militant group.
“Nakakarindi na po kasi ang bunganga nila. Wala namang silang karapatang pumasok dito dahil puro sila kontra kay Marcos tapos makikinabang din pala”, Valiente said.
When asked if he is not afraid to lose his job because of what happened, Valiente added, “Ginagawa ko lang po ang trabaho ko para ilayo ang publiko sa mga masasamang tao. Lalo na rito puro pasyente, baka dito pa sila magrally”.
It was not clear if the men were visiting a patient or if they have some other business to do.
“Dapat hindi talaga sila pinapayagan na makinabang sa lahat ng mga ginawa ni Marcos”, Valiente added. /Nikki Maliksi – Quezon City/
