Just recently, a website study has been conducted using research data and analysis and on the European Intelligence Unit Procedure. This is sought as a website study of 120 cities in the Philippines. Among the notable results is the fact that Bacolod City comes to be a part of the top 20 most livable cities of 2016.

Though it may come as huge news, this is not the first time that the city has been hailed for such distinction.  In fact, in 2008 and 2013, the city has also been given the same recognition by MoneySense Magazine.

The result came out with certain categories considered. For instance, in computing for the overall score, the cities were studied for stability which takes up 25% of the score, culture and environment at 25%, healthcare at 20%, education at 10 percent, and infrastructure at 20 percent.

Aside from these, the study also includes the cities’ financial performance, population density, availability of public and private hospitals, availability of sports and development program, calamity safety index, availability and quality of public health services, environmental conditions, tourist attractions, cultural and commercial ties, and the availability of public and private educational sectors.

There were also quantitative variables involved. Data for such are garnered from the cities’ government departments.

Bacolod City got a score of 85.183 as the Most Livable City of 2016. This just means that the variables included in the study are well represented while it also has the lowest crime rate. The city has got such distinction also because of the Masskara Festival which only shows how friendly the people are, thus, it is only fitting to give it the Most Livable City title. Aside from this, the city can never be also left out when it comes to the sector of commerce as it can compete nationally among first class cities in the country.

Following the lists on the top five are Iloilo City with 80.23, Davao City with 80.01, Tagaytay City with 79.25, Cebu City with 78.93.
